Parliament: Nine Kashmiri Pandits were killed in three years, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said in Rajya Sabha

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has given an important information in the Rajya Sabha. He said that the total number of Kashmiri Pandits killed in the Valley during the last three years from 2020 to 2022 is nine, including one person belonging to the Kashmiri Rajput community. Apart from this, giving another information, the Minister of State for Home said that till December 2, 2022, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered 497 cases including the Coimbatore blast case.

 

Giving another important detail, Nityanand Rai said that the NCB seized 637 kg of heroin worth Rs 1,274 crore from ports in Kerala last year and arrested 11 foreigners in this connection. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that there is no study/data to indicate the increase in the rate of drug trafficking in the country, however there is an increase in the number of drug users as per the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment survey 2019 vs 2004 developed.

Nityanand Rai said that the current strength of women personnel in the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles is 34,278 against the sanctioned strength of 10,12,568, i.e. 3.38 per cent of the sanctioned strength.
