Visa can be cancelled if you commit a crime in America. The US Embassy in India has warned that visa holders who commit assault, theft or burglary in America will not only face legal difficulties, but their visa can also be cancelled.
Not only this, such accused can also be declared 'ineligible' for US visa in future, that is, such accused can also be barred from re-entering America.
Expectation to follow US laws
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the embassy also said that the US expects foreign visitors to follow all US laws. This statement was shared on the embassy's X handle.
The authenticity of the video could not be confirmed
This warning has been issued at a time when a video circulated on the internet media allegedly shows an Indian woman being detained by police officials.
The woman is accused of trying to steal several items from a store in America. However, the authenticity of the video could not be confirmed.
Your visa can also be cancelled.
The US Embassy said, "Attacking, stealing, or burglarizing in the US will not only lead to legal problems, but can also result in cancellation of your visa. You may also become ineligible for a US visa in the future. The US values law and order and expects foreign tourists to follow all US laws."
Earlier on June 19, the embassy had said in a post that the US visa is a privilege, not a right. Its scrutiny does not stop after the visa is issued. If someone breaks the law, the authorities can cancel their license.
