US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti said on Tuesday that President Joe Biden told him that India is the most important country in the world for him. Garcetti said, "He (President Biden) told me, when he asked me to come here to serve, he said, this is the most important country in the world to me, I think that's something that both of our countries have No American President in history has ever said...six percent of taxpayers in America are Indian Americans."

Earlier on Friday, Garcetti said he was looking forward to elevating India-US ties during his tenure as he completed 100 days as the US ambassador to India. "Celebrating 100 incredible days as US Ambassador to India! During my first 100 days, I visited 12 Indian states and union territories, tasted over 200 delicious Indian dishes," she said on her official social media account 'X'. and connected with wonderful people. Thank you for your deep friendship and warm welcome. I look forward to elevating India-US relations during my tenure!"
