Kohli has jointly reached the top position in terms of being a part of India's most Test wins abroad. He equaled Ajinkya Rahane. Even with Rahane, Team India has won abroad 15 times. After Kohli-Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma are jointly in second place. With both of them, Team India has won 14-14 matches abroad. At the same time, this happened 13 times each during the tenure of current coach Rahul Dravid and National Cricket Academy head VVS Laxman.

 

 

11th win with Bumrah-Rahul and Jadeja

Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja were involved in India's win abroad for the 11th time. All three equaled Mohammed Shami and Rishabh Pant. This series was memorable for Rahul and Bumrah. Rahul scored 113 runs in three innings of two Tests. He stood third in terms of scoring the most runs. This also includes the memorable century scored in Centurion. At the same time, Bumrah took the maximum of 12 wickets in two matches. He was also named Player of the Series jointly with Dean Elgar.

 

Kohli was India's most successful batsman in the Test series.

Talking about Kohli, he scored the most runs for India in the series. Virat scored 172 runs in four innings of two matches. During this period his average was 43.00. Only South African opener Dean Elgar scored more runs than him. He scored 201 runs in four innings. Elgar's average was 67.00.

 

What happened in the match?

South African captain Dean Elgar won the toss and decided to bat first. His decision proved wrong. In the first innings, the South African team was limited to only 55 runs. After that India was all out for 153 runs. The first innings of both teams ended on the first day of the match itself. On the second day of the match, the hosts scored 173 runs in the second innings. In this way, India got the target of 79 runs. He achieved it at the loss of three wickets.
