Chinyalisaur airstrip is also very important from a strategic point of view. Cheetah helicopters of the Air Force had also arrived on 9th December, while on the night of 5th December, the exercise was also done through fighter planes.

 

Chinese troops had intruded into the Nelong Valley

During the Indo-China war of 1962, there was a deadlock on the China border. Chinese troops had infiltrated the Nelong Valley. The Indian Army pushed back.

 

During that time, Nelang and Jadung villages of Nelang Valley were evacuated by the army in terms of security. Army and ITBP have set up their camps on the land of villagers in Nelang and Jajung.
