Mumbai, Jan 28 (IANS) Veteran journalist D. K. Raikar, group editor of the Lokmat Group, was named for the prestigious 'Lokmanya Tilak Lifetime Achievement Award for Journalism' for 2013, an official said here Wednesday.
Besides Raikar from Mumbai, the award for 2011 was bagged by Laxman T. Joshi, editor of Lokshahi of Nagpur, and for 2012 by former editor of Lokmat daily newspaper, Vijay V. Kuwalekar from Pune.
The announcements of the awards for the past three years were made by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here Wednesday.
The awards, instituted by the state government and carrying cash rewards, citation and trophy shall be given away at a function here Feb 4.
Besides these main awards, the government also announced different categories of awards for outstanding journalists from around the state for 2011, 2012 and 2013.
