Schools closed in UP even today
Because of heavy rains in many districts including Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, the district administration on Tuesday also decided to close all government and non-government schools and higher educational institutions up to class 12. In an order issued by Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar on Monday, it was said that because of the heavy rain warning issued by the Meteorological Department for October 11 in all the areas of Lucknow district, in all the government and private schools of the board in urban and rural areas. Tuesday has been declared a holiday.
Significantly, on Sunday, apart from Lucknow, the district administration in Noida, Ghaziabad, Agra, Meerut, Aligarh, Mathura, Kanpur, Etah, Mainpuri, Firozabad had ordered the closure of schools on Monday. Heavy rain forecast in Uttarakhand
