Weather Update Today: Heavy rain alert in these states including UP, schools closed, trains affected

Monsoon has left many states of the country, but due to Cyclone Noru, many parts of the country have been raining for the last several days. The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert in 23 states including UP, Uttarakhand on Monday, 10 October 2022. Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is likely over these states. Heavy rain is expected in some states.

 

Talking about the weather of Uttar Pradesh, today an alert of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in West UP. Schools have been closed today in many districts including Lucknow. Due to the heavy rains for the last three days, many rivers of UP are in spate, due to which there is a flood situation in many districts. More than 30 people have died at different places due to rain in Uttar Pradesh.

 

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain for the next few days in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand, besides some southern states.

 

 Yellow alert in 23 states today, heavy rain expected

 

According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on October 10, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Northeast Sikkim, Arunachal There is a warning of light to moderate rain with strong winds and heavy rain in some states today in the state, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. A yellow alert has been issued in 23 states.

 

There will be heavy rain in these districts of UP today

 

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. During this, winds will blow at a speed of 20 to 30 km. According to the Meteorological Department, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Etah, Etawah, Faizabad, Farrukhabad, Firozabad, Gonda, Hapur, Hardoi, Bhadohi, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kushinagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow, Mahamayanagar, Mainpuri, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rae Bareli, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Sitapur, Amethi, Auraiya, Badaun, Bahraich, Balrampur, Barabanki and Unnao will receive heavy rains.

 

Schools up to 12th closed in many districts of UP due to rain

 

Because of the warning of heavy rains, orders have been issued to keep all schools up to 12th closed on Monday in many districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Meerut, Moradabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, and Ghaziabad. Due to heavy rains, orders have been issued by the district administration to close the schools in Sitapur, Bahraich, and Lakhimpur also. Schools will be closed by the district administration because of the heavy rains in these districts. The administration has issued orders in this regard to all the schools.

 

30 killed in UP due to rain

 

More than 30 people died at different places on Sunday amidst incessant rains in Uttar Pradesh. These include deaths due to lightning, house collapses, and flowing into rivers. Animals have also died in many places. Expressing grief over these incidents, CM Yogi announced Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the victims of the accident.

 

Hospital on alert in Uttar Pradesh

 

Hospitals across the state have also been put on alert mode after the Meteorological Department issued an alert of heavy rain on Monday. Medical Education and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak also tweeted about this late at night. He directed that because of the alert, all the officers related to medical education and health services, medical colleges, institutions, hospitals, CMOs, doctors, and all concerned staff should be ready for emergency service.

 

Where two dozen trains including Rajdhani stood

 

Due to incessant rain, the operation of trains came to a standstill at 9.30 pm on Sunday due to an overhead electric (OHE) failure near Kanpur Central railway station. This caused many Rajdhani as well as other express and mail trains to be parked at the Central Station's platforms, Outer and nearby stations. Its impact has been the most on the trains of the Delhi-Howrah route. After the sudden fault, the work of rectifying the problem was started by sending motor wagons on information from the traffic officials of the railways. At present, the operation of trains is stalled for two and a half hours.

 

Delhi-NCR will continue the rainy season

 

According to the Meteorological Department, it will be cloudy today in Delhi. Light to moderate rain is expected in some places. Relief from heat and coolness will remain. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 26 and 20 degree Celsius respectively.

 

Chances of drizzle in some districts of Punjab

 

The sky will remain cloudy in Punjab on Monday as well and there is a possibility of drizzle in some districts. The day temperature will be below normal and for the next two days, the day will remain cool. Due to the change in the weather for the last few days, the cold has started increasing in the morning and evening.

 

Chance of rain and snowfall in Himachal

 

It will be cloudy at most places in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. It may rain in some places. There is also a possibility of snowfall in the mountains. The Meteorological Department issued an alert for thunderstorms and lightning in seven districts on Tuesday. This alert is for all the districts except Chamba, Lahaul Spiti, Una Bilaspur, and Hamirpur.
