The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala in South India today i.e. on 21 October 2022. IMD has issued yellow alerts in 8 states. Why is the weather pattern changing?
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in many areas of the state, and snowfall on the higher peaks. According to IMD, the effect of Western Disturbance coming over the Himalayas is likely to be visible in the Gangetic plains from next week. Meanwhile, the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a cyclone by the weekend. According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southwest and adjoining east-central part of the Bay of Bengal.
Cyclone alert in Odisha
