'What was the need to blame India', Canadian national security expert questions his PM

Amidst the bitterness in India-Canada relations, a big confession from Canada's PM Justin Trudeau came to the fore. He had said that Canada did not provide India with the necessary evidence in the Nijjar murder case. Now, Canadian national security expert Adam George has raised questions on his PM Justin Trudeau regarding this matter.

 

'What was the need to accuse India?'

 

Canadian national security expert Adam George said, "Justin Trudeau's admission that he did not share concrete evidence with India at that time was quite interesting. This only goes to show. The question is why this allegation had to be made public that India was behind the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. It is not clear yet whether Canada has shared more evidence with India or not, I think only time will tell everything."

 

Earlier, Canada's PM Trudeau had accused India of being involved in Nijjar's murder. After this, India showed strictness and called these allegations absurd and called it a political gimmick of Trudeau. Justin Trudeau said, that intelligence from Canada and its allies revealed that Indian agents were involved in the murder of Nijjar, but he admitted that there was no concrete evidence at the time.

 

India responded to Trudeau's allegations.

 

Justin Trudeau said, "Told India that this is not concrete evidence, but only intelligence. We wanted India to cooperate with us behind the scenes. There was no concrete evidence at this time." On this, the Indian Foreign Ministry showed strictness on Thursday (17 October 2024).

 

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "The Canadian government has not shared any information with India since September 2023. Justin Trudeau did make serious allegations, but no information was shared. We are concerned about the safety of our diplomats and keeping that in mind, we called our diplomats back to India."
