The World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday agreed to an unbiased investigation into its role on the corona virus on demand from 100 countries, including India. Meanwhile, the head of the organization, Tedross A. Gebreyes, also urged all countries to continue funding the agency.
Gebreyesus said, he would begin an investigation into the United Nations Health Agency's role in dealing with the epidemic as soon as possible. He gave this confidence after proposing at the 73rd meeting of the World Health Assembly demanding an independent investigation into WHO's response to the Covid-19 epidemic. Defending the allegations against WHO, he said that the world does not need any other mechanism, committee or organization. WHO needs strength, so it needs funding. Earlier, 62 countries including India gave their support to the proposal for independent investigation of WHO in the World Health Assembly. The proposal urged an independent investigation into WHO's response to the Covid-19 epidemic.
