The second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) will start on Friday. On the lines of IPL, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) started the T20 league for women last year. Earlier also the board had organized such a tournament, but it was given an IPL-like format in 2023. No, there is no change in the format of the tournament. Like last time, a total of 22 matches will be played. Each of the five teams plays the other four twice. The table-toppers qualify directly for the final, while the second- and third-placed teams face off in an eliminator.

This time the two teams that reached the final last time will face each other in the inaugural match. Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Capitals. After that, Royal Challengers Bangalore will start their campaign against UP Warriors the next day. The fifth team Gujarat Giants will start its campaign with a match against Mumbai on the third day.
