Fake notes showing the value of crores of rupees are being caught every year in the country. This shows that a large number of fake notes are in circulation in the country. These are not only a cause of trouble for the people but are also a big challenge for the country's economy. In the last three years, security agencies have seized fake notes worth about Rs 138 crore. Most of the seized notes are fake notes of two thousand rupees.

Most fake notes come from Pakistan

It is learned that most of the fake notes were detected along the country's borders with Pakistan and were intercepted by the Border Security Force (BSF). These notes were printed in Pakistan and sent to India. The rest of the notes were seized during circulation in various cities of the country and from the agents of the gangs. But a lot of work remains to be done to stop the circulation of fake notes. The central government had claimed that demonetization had dealt a severe blow to the counterfeit currency business and the new notes were designed in such a way that they were almost impossible to counterfeit. But the fraudsters belittled the government's claim.

Signs of terrorists getting money from the business of notes

According to the Union Home Ministry, counterfeit notes showing a value of Rs 137.96 crore were seized from 2019 to 2021. Most of these notes were fake notes of Rs 2000, followed by fake notes of Rs 500. The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the law and order agencies of the Central and State Governments to keep a close watch and nab those involved in the business of fake currency. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also keeping an eye on the business of fake notes. There are indications of terrorists getting money from the business of fake notes. The wires of this business are also connected with every big gang.
