For Chennai, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played an inning of 98 runs in 54 balls and made a century partnership with Daryl Mitchell, based on which Chennai scored 212 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. In reply, fast bowler Tushar Deshpande performed brilliantly and took four wickets, and Hyderabad's innings was reduced to 134 runs in 18.5 overs. Aiden Markram was the top scorer for Hyderabad scoring 32 runs on 26 balls.
