Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is continuously cornering the BJP government of Delhi over giving free cylinders on Holi. Today, Aam Aadmi Party leaders protested and put up banners at ITO over BJP's promise of free LPG cylinders. Earlier yesterday, Aam Aadmi Party had protested at 40 places.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar said, "Modi ji and Nadda ji had guaranteed that women in Delhi will get free cylinders on Holi. We have come here to tell people that the BJP is a 'jumla' party. The people of Delhi neither got free cylinders nor Rs 2500. Our struggle will continue till the people of Delhi get free cylinders."
AAP leader Praveen Kumar criticized the BJP-led Delhi government for not fulfilling its promise of giving free gas cylinders on Holi and called every promise of the BJP a jumla. She said, "It is very sad that the women who voted for the BJP will get free cylinders, but they have not received the cylinders yet. Tomorrow is Holi, but people have not received free cylinders yet and they still have to pay Rs 1000. Every promise of the BJP is proving to be a 'jumla', whether it is about giving Rs 2500 to women or giving free cylinders. Both these promises have proved to be 'jumla'."
On Wednesday, Leader of Opposition Atishi said that the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made many promises to the women of Delhi before the elections. The promise of giving Rs 2500 to women by March 8 has proved to be a jumla and a fraud. Another promise was to give a free cylinder to every woman on Holi-Diwali. The women of Delhi are waiting for the promise of giving free cylinders to be fulfilled. On Wednesday, when Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers reminded the BJP of its election promise of giving free cylinders on the Holi festival at ITO, the Delhi Police took them into custody.
On Wednesday, AAP workers including former Delhi Mayor Dr. Shaili Oberoi protested at Mandi House and demanded BJP to fulfill its election promises. Similarly, AAP workers protested at other places including Kalkaji and Sangam Vihar.
Politics of lies will wipe out AAP from Delhi - Sachdeva.
On the other hand, state BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said on Wednesday that Aam Aadmi Party is heading towards decline. The day is not far when it will lose the status of the opposition party. Delhiites are being misled regarding the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. When Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made the budget and time-bound announcement regarding the scheme on March 8, now they are trying to mislead about gas cylinders on Holi. In the era of social media, people are well aware that it will take some time to get administrative approvals and make rules to start a big scheme like free gas cylinders. Free LPG cylinders are being given regularly in BJP-ruled states and will soon be given in Delhi as well.
