In the US state of Texas, a man ejected from an apartment building in the city of Houston killed three people in the building. The man first set the apartment on fire and as people came out, he opened fire on them.
The attacker opened fire on five people, out of which two people died on the spot, while one person succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The dead included men in the age group of 40 to 60 years. Two injured are being treated at the hospital.
The attacker was also killed in police action
The accident happened at around 1 p.m. (US time) on Sunday night at an industrial-residential complex in southwest Houston. Police and fire crew reached here after receiving the news of the fire in the apartment. The attacker was also killed in retaliation by the police. Police said that the attacker was around 40 years old and he too had been staying in the same apartment for a long time.
The cancer patient was the attacker
Robin Ahrens, a resident of the apartment, said the attacker had colon cancer. He had lost his job and could not even pay the rent. He was also given the notice to vacate the apartment recently. Due to all these things, he might have stopped making a difference and he took such a step.
Robin told that he was doing his job at the time of the attack when he heard gunshots. They thought someone was bursting firecrackers outside. Robin said, 'I am lucky that I did not go out, otherwise the attacker would have shot me too.'
The unknown attacker killed three people in Detroit too
In Detroit, America, on Sunday, an attacker opened fire on four people. Three of these died. The dead included two women and a man. The police started the operation to find the attacker. Midwestern City Police Chief James White said the three dead were shot multiple times at different locations. When the fourth person saw the attacker hiding behind the car and asked him to stop, the attacker shot him too.
The police have just made public the photo of the attacker and asked people for help in finding him. Police say that the attacker did not target people in any particular pattern. He randomly shot people. The police fear that the attacker may target more people.
