Peerzada, speaking to Nadir Gurmani on Dawn News TV, claimed that during an in-camera briefing, army generals had proposed to bring TTP back to Pakistan. However, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif talked about it. He said that TTP has killed many popular leaders including Benazir Bhutto. According to Peerzada, the suggestion to bring TTP back to the country was made by General Faiz at this time.

According to Dawn, Peerzada also rejected the claim that the resettlement was the idea of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
