20-year-old Indian-origin student murdered in the US, accused Korean roommate arrested

A 20-year-old Indian-origin student was murdered in the US state of Indiana. Varun Manish Chheda, a 20-year-old Indian-origin student studying at Purdue University in the state of Indiana, was murdered in a hostel. According to media reports, his Korean roommate has been taken into custody. The reasons for the murder are yet to be ascertained.

 

Varun was found dead at McCutcheon Hall on the western side of the Manish Chheda compound, police said on Wednesday. Another university student was arrested on Wednesday for murder. NBC News has given this information quoting the police chief of the school.

Korean student calls police

 

Purdue University Police Chief Leslie Viete said in a press conference Wednesday morning that Ji Min Jimmy Sha, a junior cyber security chief from Korea and international student, called 911 at around 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday to inform police about the death. Called on.

 

However, the details of the call have not been disclosed yet. Officials said the incident took place in a room on the first floor of McCutcheon Hall. Many people had heard his screams on Wednesday.

Korean student was taken to police station

Police officer Viette said 22-year-old Sha was taken into custody minutes after a 911 call and taken to a police station for further investigation.
