In the Delhi Assembly elections (Delhi Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025), the voting percentage declined for the second consecutive time and this time the lowest voting was recorded as compared to the last three elections. The reason for this is that this time the voters were not as enthusiastic as in the last three elections.
Which seats got the most votes?
Due to this, the voting figure (Delhi Voting Percentage) could not reach 70 percent in any assembly constituency of Delhi and voting was less than 60 percent in 28 assembly constituencies.
This time, there has been more than 65 percent voting in these eight assembly constituencies of Mustafabad, Seelampur, Gokalpuri, Babarpur, Trilokpuri, Seemapuri, Matiamahal and Rohtas Nagar, but the voting percentage has decreased in the rest of the areas except Babarpur.
The voting percentage decreased in these seats
Last time, there was more than 65 percent voting in 17 assembly constituencies. Out of which, voting was more than 70 percent in five assembly constituencies of Ballimaran, Seelampur, Golakpuri, Mustafabad and Matiamahal. Voting has decreased significantly in areas like Ballimaran, Sadar Bazar.
Voting had increased in the 2013 elections.
Actually, in the 2013 assembly elections, people were mobilized on issues like corruption and Lokpal. Due to this, voting increased in the 2013 assembly elections and more than 66 percent voting took place.
After this, in the 2015 elections, voters mobilized on the issue of free water, half electricity, and Mohalla clinic. After this, in the 2020 elections, despite 4.87 percent less voting, more than 62 percent voting took place. This time, no mobilization was seen among the voters towards any one party.
Votes were also seen getting divided in Muslim-dominated areas. Due to this, the enthusiasm among the voters was a little less. Now after the voting, everyone's eyes are fixed on the results to be announced on February 8. Counting of votes will take place on Saturday from 8 am at 19 counting centres.
