Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said – the incident happened last week. The boy's father, Roderick Dwayne Randall, hid the gun in a closet in a room at the Pensacola Motel. As he left the room, his son found the gun and opened fire. Both the girls were from his father's girlfriend. The name of the girl who was killed in the incident was Casey Bass.

The boy's father has been charged with gun possession, negligence, and tampering with evidence. He said that the injured girl is expected to recover soon.
