A committee of three ministers each from both states will be formed to resolve the border dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra. The decision was taken in a meeting with the Chief Ministers of both states along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. According to Amit Shah, it has also been decided in the meeting not to make new claims on the border towards any of the two states till the decision of the Supreme Court. Along with this, a committee will also be formed under the leadership of a senior IPS officer to maintain normalcy in the disputed areas. Amit Shah made it clear that the border dispute cannot be resolved on the road, but only within the ambit of the Constitution.
Fake accounts were created in the name of big leaders
Amit Shah said that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Home Minister were present in the meeting. Apart from this, senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs were also present in the meeting. According to Shah, several fake Twitter accounts were used to fuel the 66-year-old border dispute at this time. These fake accounts were created in the name of big leaders. Shah said that investigation will be started by registering an FIR against these fake Twitter accounts and action will be ensured by identifying those responsible for this. These fake Twitter accounts played an important role in inciting emotions among the common people regarding the border dispute.
Local travelers and traders are being targeted amid border dispute
The boundary dispute between the two states is pending in the Supreme Court. Till the decision of such court comes, both the states were asked not to give any new claim and statement regarding the boundary. The Chief Ministers of both states were ready for this. According to Shah, a committee of three ministers from each of both states will discuss the current border dispute as well as suggest solutions to small other issues related to the areas adjacent to the border.
Shah said the attempt was made to target local travelers and traders amid the ongoing border dispute. To deal with this, a committee will be formed under the leadership of a senior IPS officer, who will take over the responsibility of maintaining law and order, and peace in these areas. Shah appealed to the opposition parties of both states to refrain from making unnecessary statements and cooperate in maintaining peace.
