Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Sunil Lahiri hurt by the neglect of 'Laxman', said, there will be some grace of Ram in this too

Ever since the list of invitees for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple built at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya next month has been made public, a lot of discussions have been going on in the Mumbai film industry regarding it. Those who have received invitations for this program are overwhelmed by the blessings of Shri Ram. Some people are anxious after not receiving the invitation but are avoiding expressing their reactions. But, actor Sunil Lahiri, who played the role of Laxman in Ramanand Sagar's serial 'Ramayana', does not consider it necessary to take it too seriously. He says, 'Even I did not receive the invitation. It may be possible that the organizing committee did not understand the relevance of Laxman in the story of Ram, but in the entire Ramcharit Manas, he is the only character who went to the forest with Ram despite there being no instructions for exile and fulfilled his mother's vow while staying away from his wife. Did.'

 

Sunil Lahiri, who is above 60 years of age, is still fully active in the entertainment world these days. He says, 'Now we have produced a series on Vaishno Devi in collaboration with Sagar Productions. It is being prepared to be released in theaters first as a film and then it will be released as a series on OTT. Work is also going on on some other plans, one of which is the filming of those short stories in which the saints and mahatmas of the country keep narrating in between the Ramkatha as a background to other characters.

 

On talking about his last trip to Uttar Pradesh, Sunil says, 'Last year I went to Lucknow. A 17-year-old girl from a business family had prepared a beautiful book on the love story of Laxman and Urmila and I had received an invitation to release it. It was about Laxman and Urmila, that's why I went there. To connect this story with today's generation, he also named this book 'Lakshmila'.

 

When the Ram temple of Ayodhya was mentioned in the conversation, Sunil Lahiri said, 'I had a wonderful darshan of Ramlala last time. The priests there respected me a lot. I was also shown all the objects that were unearthed during the excavation for the construction of the temple there. I have the same faith in Ram as I would have had in the story of Lakshman. I never expect anything from them nor should I. Sumitra had put one of her sons in the service of Ram and the other in the service of Bharat as soon as they were born, and both of Sumitra's sons spent their lives in fulfilling this resolution of their mother.

 

So, did he not feel any kind of upset at not getting the invitation for the consecration ceremony of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya? Sunil Lahiri looks hurt by this question, but he says, 'Maybe the organizers of this program no longer see the relevance of Laxman in Shri Ram Katha. But, this is their own decision. If there is a wedding at Amitabh Bachchan's house and he does not send the invitation, then what is the point of me being angry, if I am not invited to the program in Ayodhya, then there must be some grace of Ramji in this also.
