David Corenswet: DC Universe gets a new Superman, David Corenswet will play the main character in place of Henry Cavill

The DC Universe finally got its superhero Superman. Yes, James Gunn's rebooted DC Universe will see new actors reprising iconic roles like Superman and Batman. The search for new faces for these characters was going on for a long time and finally, James Gunn has found the hero to replace actor Henry Cavill. The 29-year-old American actor David Corenswet will be seen playing the character of Man of Steel in the upcoming films.

 

New Superman and Lois Lane found

Yesterday, DC Universe announced who will play Superman and Lois Lane in the upcoming film 'Superman: Legacy'. The fans of DC superheroes have been waiting for this announcement for a long time and finally, the makers have quenched their curiosity. While David Corenswet has been roped in to play Superman in the upcoming DC Universe film, Rachel Brosnahan has been signed on to play Lois Lane. The announcement comes after two weeks of auditions.

 

Who is David Corenswet?

David Corenswet started his career with short films. The actor was then seen playing lead roles in TV shows like 'Elementary' and 'House of Cards'. However, the actor got recognition for playing an important role in the show 'The Politician on Netflix in the year 2019-20. David Corenswet has also played small roles in the films 'Look Both Ways' and 'Pearl' released in the year 2022. From this point of view, becoming Superman for David Corenswet is the biggest achievement of his career so far.

 

David Corenswet looks like Henry Cavill?

Several actors have played Superman on screen over the years, but the last one was Henry Cavill. Henry has played this role in many films of the DC Extended Universe, including 'Man of Steel' released in 2013. Fans have been reacting on Twitter ever since David Corenswet was announced to play the role. Many have pointed out that young actor David Corenswet bears a striking resemblance to Henry Cavill, who last played Superman. One fan commented, "They found a lookalike to replace Cavill." David will now become Superman in 'Superman: Legacy' and the film will be directed by James Gunn himself.
