The England team has toured Pakistan after a long gap of 17 years. The Pakistan Cricket Board should have earned from this historic tour, but the England tour is going to hurt the PCB. A seven-match T20 series is being played between Pakistan and England and due to the security arrangements made in this series, the Pakistan Cricket Board has to pay a huge amount of 4.4 million pounds (about 40 crores). Because the English team has been given presidential level security for this series.
According to the Mirror report, this is a financial loss, which the PCB is ready to bear, as both the countries will also play the Test series this year. After the attack on the Sri Lankan team bus by terrorists in Lahore in 2009, no Test matches were played in Pakistan for a decade and their home matches were mostly held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, now many countries have visited Pakistan. Even a team like Australia had recently gone to Pakistan to play a Test series.
England are now 1-0 up in this 7-match series, as the English team defeated hosts Pakistan by 6 wickets in the first match, with a half-century from long-time comeback opener Alex Hales. Today i.e. on Thursday 22 September, there will be a competition between the two countries once again. The hosts would like to level the series, while England would like to take a 2-0 lead in the series and put pressure on Pakistan for the next few matches of the series.
