The growing tension between India and Bangladesh is now clearly visible on the sports field and in business circles. According to reports, Bangladesh may once again face significant economic losses.

A popular Indian cricket equipment company may terminate its sponsorship deals with Bangladeshi players. This dispute began after Mustafizur Rahman was released by KKR following instructions from the BCCI.

T20 WC 2026: Sponsorship Crisis

India's renowned cricket bat and kit manufacturer, SG (Sanspareils Greenlands), has decided to temporarily suspend its contracts with Bangladeshi cricketers. This is the same company that has deals with several prominent players, including Bangladeshi captain Litton Das, but the company has currently put contract renewals on hold.

This means they are waiting for the right time and do not want to rush into any new agreements. As a result, Bangladeshi players will not only face difficulties in obtaining cricket kits but may also suffer losses of millions of rupees in sponsorship earnings from these companies.

Moreover, it's not just SG; Sareen Sports Industries had already canceled its contracts with Bangladeshi players last year. This decision was taken after the political upheaval in Bangladesh last year. SS had contracts with players like Mushfiqur Rahim and Soumya Sarkar. This has not only affected players' contracts but also halted trade activities.

Supply Chain and Manufacturing Halted

The impact of this tension is not limited to individual contracts; the supply chain of sports goods from Bangladesh to India has completely stopped. Previously, Indian companies used to get sports goods manufactured in Bangladeshi factories, but this work has now ceased, resulting in significant losses for Indian companies.
