The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition challenging the order of the Mumbai High Court by the Maharashtra government and former state home minister Anil Deshmukh. During the court hearing, Anil Deshmukh's lawyer Kapil Sibal said that the law should be equal for all. He said that Parambir Singh is a police officer, so his statement cannot be considered as evidence. His words do not become evidence because he is a police officer.
