The Indian cricket team is performing brilliantly in every format of cricket these days and they are carrying forward the legacy that MS Dhoni had handed over to Virat Kohli. However, Virat has not been able to get Team India any ICC title so far. India won their last ICC title in the year 2013. That year, under the captaincy of Dhoni, Team India won the Champions Trophy title, but after that, the Indian cricket team did not win any ICC title. Not only this, the Indian team loses in the crucial match of the ICC event after 2013.
Former Indian player Deep Dasgupta reacted to why this is happening with the Indian cricket team now. Replying to a cricket fan's question on Sports Today, he said that since 2013, Team India has not won any ICC title and there is no specific reason behind it. Perhaps this is happening because this team starts thinking more than necessary and takes too much pressure. Because of this pressure, their performance is greatly affected. Team India had made it to the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy in the year 2017 but had to face defeat at the hands of Pakistan. India also lost to New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup semi-finals.
Deep Dasgupta said that, if every 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final is talked about then Team India should have won. At the same time, look at the no-ball of the final of the Champions Trophy, they do not even talk about it. We have to focus on these lost matches, in the same way, Team India will not be called chokers. Let me tell you that, now the T20 World Cup will be held in India in October-November where there will be a big opportunity for Team India once again.
