Apple has released a new rapid security update for iPhones running iOS 16. The latest software patches are called Rapid Security Responses, which are issued when the company finds a major bug or security flaw that requires a rapid fix to be patched.
The iOS 16.4.1 (A) Rapid Security Response update for iPhones running iOS 16.4.1 is around 90MB and therefore does not offer any new features. Instead, it fixes a major security issue that should make iPhones more secure.
Need new update
Even if you are on an older version of iOS, it is recommended to install this patch to further improve the security of your iPhone. Some users on the social media platform are reporting that their devices are failing to install rapid security updates and showing an 'Unable to Verify Security Response' error message.
Be informed that this can be fixed by restarting the iPhone and downloading the software update again. Make sure that your device is still connected to the internet after downloading the update. However, we were able to successfully install this update on iPhone 12 Pro without any issues.
Which phones will get the update?
The latest software update is available for all iPhones that are eligible for the iOS 16 update. Hence, the update is also available for iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 series smartphones.
