Security has been beefed up in Srinagar ahead of the Supreme Court's decision on petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Birdi, who held security review meetings in 10 districts of the valley in two weeks, said that we are taking all precautions and will ensure that peace is not disturbed in Kashmir. Authorities here have issued guidelines for social media users under Section 144 of the CrPC to prevent the spread of any content that is communally sensitive or promotes terrorism and separatism. The guidelines aim to provide clarity on the steps to be taken by citizens when using terrorism, separatism, threats, intimidation, or communally sensitive content on social media platforms.

Initial inquiries found it to be part of a module intended to spread rumors to further the enemy's agenda. A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the law. Analysis and investigation of digital devices have been initiated.
