
Suresh Chandrakar, the prime accused in the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, was arrested by the SIT in Hyderabad. Suresh Chandrakar is a contractor by profession. He is also a member of the Congress. Mukesh Chandrakar and Suresh Chandrakar are relatives.
Mukesh Chandrakar had exposed a case of corruption, after which Suresh killed him. The case came to light on January 3. Since then, the police have been looking for Suresh Chandrakar. According to the post-mortem report, Mukesh's liver was torn into 4 pieces. 5 ribs were broken, there were 15 fractures in the head, the heart was torn and the neck was found broken. Doctors said that they had not seen such a murder in their 12-year career.
SIT had gone to Hyderabad
SIT was formed to investigate the case. The SIT team left for Hyderabad to catch him. He was arrested there late on Sunday night. Apart from Suresh's brothers Ritesh Chandrakar and Dinesh Chandrakar, a supervisor has already been arrested.
33-year-old Mukesh Chandrakar was a freelance journalist. He went missing on January 1. On January 3, Mukesh's body was recovered from a septic tank located on Suresh Chandrakar's property in Chhatanpara Basti of Bijapur city. Suresh was accused of murder.
He was hiding in the driver's house
According to the police, Suresh Chandrakar was hiding at his driver's house in Hyderabad. To catch him, the police scanned more than 200 CCTV footage and tracked about 300 mobile numbers. Suresh Chandrakar is still being questioned.
Earlier, Suresh Chandrakar's four bank accounts were frozen and the yard constructed by him illegally was also demolished. Suresh Chandrakar's wife has also been taken into custody and is being questioned in Kanker district.

According to the initial investigation, after an argument over dinner with journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, his relative Ritesh and supervisor Mahendra attacked him with an iron rod. Both of them dumped his body in a septic tank and sealed it with cement.
They also destroyed Mukesh's phone and iron rod so that no evidence remains. The third accused Dinesh was monitoring the sealing of the tank. Contractor Suresh Chandrakar is said to be the mastermind of this murder.
Demand for compensation of Rs 1 crore
Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Vijay Sharma expressed grief over the incident and assured strict action against the culprits. The journalists of the state also expressed anger against this incident. They demanded the Chief Minister to arrest the accused immediately.
Apart from this, a demand was also made to give financial assistance of Rs 1 crore and the status of a martyr to Mukesh Chandrakar's family. In protest against the murder of Mukesh in Kondagaon, journalists took out a silent rally and paid tribute by lighting candles.
