"Asia Cup 2025 T20: India Wins 8 of 10 Matches—Only Defeated by Pakistan and Sri Lanka"

Amid preparations for the Asia Cup 2025, the record of the Indian team and the schedule of upcoming matches have now become a topic of discussion for cricket fans. Team India has performed brilliantly against seven other countries in this edition of the tournament and has lost only against two teams like Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This is the third edition of the Asia Cup T20. Earlier, this tournament was played in 2016 and 2022. In 2016, Team India became the champion under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, while in 2022, Sri Lanka captured the title. India has played a total of 10 matches in the Asia Cup T20, including the 2016 and 2022 editions, and has won eight of them. Team India lost two matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2022.

Out of this, India has won seven or eight matches and Team India had to face defeat in two. The two teams against which India has lost include Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India had to face defeat once each against these two teams in 2022. Pakistan defeated India by five wickets in the Super-Four match and Sri Lanka defeated by six wickets in the Super-Four round itself.

 

Won two out of three matches against Pakistan

India has won both two matches against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup T20. At the same time, the Indian team has won two out of three matches against Pakistan and lost one. India has played one match against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup T20 and won it. India has played one match against Hong Kong and won it. India has played two matches against Sri Lanka and won one, while losing the other. India has played one match against the UAE and won.

 

Record against the remaining seven teams in T20

Out of these, Team India won seven. One match was tied, and one had no result. India has played one match each in T20 against Hong Kong and the UAE. The Indian team won both matches.

 

The tournament will start on September 9

 

The Asia Cup T20 tournament is going to start next month. Fans are eagerly waiting for this tournament, which will run in T20 format from September 9 to September 28. Especially the wait is for the high voltage match between India and Pakistan. According to the tournament schedule, this match is to be held in Dubai on September 14. However, it is not yet decided whether the Indian team will play this match or not. At the same time, India will play its first match against the UAE on September 10.

In 2016, India won the Asia Cup T20, while in 2022, Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup T20. If we combine both formats, ODI and T20, then India has become the champion eight times.
