Sriram Raghavan's upcoming war drama film 'Ikkiis' is special for fans for several reasons. It's the last film of veteran actor Dharmendra that audiences will see on screen. The film didn't release in theaters on December 25th, but now, with the new year, it will be released to audiences in January. Besides Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda will also be making his big-screen debut in this film after his OTT debut.
A special screening of 'Ikkiis', which is set to release in the new year, was recently held in Mumbai. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol attended, and Salman Khan also graced the screening with his presence. However, Salman Khan once again couldn't control his emotions upon seeing his father figure, Dharmendra.
Salman Khan gazed intently at Dharmendra.
A video of Salman Khan attending the 'Ikkiis' screening was shared on Instagram by one of his fan clubs. In the video, Salman Khan comes onto the stage, and for a while, he simply gazes at the poster of Dharmendra from 'Ikkiis'. During this time, Salman didn't say anything to the media, but the tears in his eyes clearly showed how much he misses the legendary actor. Sharing this moment from the screening of 'Ikkis', a fan wrote in the Instagram caption, "Salman Khan is remembering Dharam ji at the screening of Ikkis. Seeing tears in Bhaijaan's eyes, his fans also became emotional."
Dharmendra was like a father to Salman.
It is worth noting that Salman Khan and Dharmendra shared a very strong bond. The Sholay actor always considered Salman his third son and would say that of the three, he was the one who took after him. When Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on November 10, Salman Khan also went to visit him there. Dharmendra's death on November 24 deeply affected the Deol family, as well as Salman.
He was seen remembering Dharmendra at international events, and when Salman Khan was paying tribute to the 'Sholay' actor on Bigg Boss, he couldn't hold back his tears.
When will 'Ikkis' be released in theaters?
Regarding the release date of Dharmendra and Agastya Nanda's film 'Ikkis', the movie will now be released in theaters on January 1, 2026. Jaideep Ahlawat also plays an important role in the film. The film tells the story of India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient - Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, played by Agastya Nanda.
