Thousands of supporters of 'Waris Punjab De' Jathedar Amritpal attacked the Ajnala police station in Punjab on Thursday. Still the police did not take any action. Amritpal is pro-Khalistan. Questions are being raised on the inaction of the police.
SSP Harpal Singh Randhawa said that the attackers had brought swords and guns. He also had Sri Guru Granth Sahib. In such a situation, the soldiers retreated. In the statement given to the TV channel, Randhawa has given this reason for not taking action.

Amritpal Singh had announced protest against the registration of case against his supporter Lovepreet Toofan. Seeing this, the police had full preparation. Police of 6 districts were deployed in Ajnala. Amritpal's supporters were stopped at the bus stand even before reaching the Ajnala police station. Heavy barricading was done by the police. There was a scuffle with Amritpal's supporters but the police did not allow them to proceed further.
2. Amritpal came with Palki Sahib
Jathedar Amritpal entered when the supporters could not cross the barricading. Guru Granth Sahib Ji's form was also there with Amritpal. Seeing this, the policemen also stopped. They tried to stop, but kept on moving out of the way to avoid sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. After this the supporters of Amritpal created a ruckus there. They entered the Ajnala police station with swords and guns. Here they started demanding to leave the storm at the same time. Amritpal said that he would start the langar here itself.
3. After the meeting, the police said, proof of Toofan Singh's innocence, they are releasing him
Amritsar Police Commissioner Jaskaran Singh, SSP Satinder Singh held the meeting. After this closed-door meeting, the police said that sufficient evidence has been given of Toofan Singh's innocence.
The police is letting him go. The work of getting him out of the case will be done according to the process. The police will file a report in the court. With the police filing a cancellation report in the court, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the leadership of SP Tejbir Singh Hundal.
