The latest case is of Chandpur district where a mob of extremists attacked a Hindu temple after spreading rumors on Facebook. During this attack, several rounds of firing were also done due to which three Hindus died. On this incident, Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council tweeted that October 13 is a condemnable day in the history of Bangladesh. On the occasion of idol immersion on Ashtami, several puja mandaps were vandalized and Hindus were injured. Hindus now have to guard the puja mandaps. Today the whole world is silent. After the Facebook post went viral, religious fundamentalists resorted to violence
Several Durga pandals were vandalized by religious fanatics after a Facebook post purportedly by Hindus insulting the Quran went viral on social media on Wednesday night. Not only this, when they were opposed, they opened fire, which resulted in the painful death of three people. On the other hand, Shibu Prasad Dutta, general secretary of Kamila Mahanagar Puja Udjapon Committee, while denying the claims of insult of Quran, said that someone put a copy of the Quran in a Durga Puja pavilion in Nanua Dighir Par early in the morning and the guard was sleeping at that time.
Apart from this, a district official confirmed that some religious extremists first put a copy of the Quran in Durga pandals and took some pictures, then fled. Within a few hours all of them using Facebook to make the provocative pictures viral.
Many Hindu devotees were beaten up
He indicated the role of some activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islam. Hindu temples were brutally attacked and Hindu devotees were beaten up at Hajiganj in Chandpur, Banshkhali in Chattogram, Shibganj in Chapainwabganj, and Pekua in Cox's Bazar. Three Hindus have reportedly been killed in the violent clash, however, this is yet to be confirmed by the police.
