In the case of money laundering, Mafia Mukhtar was being questioned on Thursday as well. He was taken by surprise when Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials asked him whom he had gone to Dubai to meet. Keeping his hand on his forehead, he remained silent for some time and later said that he had gone to perform Haj. He did not answer the question of whom he met in Dubai after Hajj and what was the reason. In such a situation, it is believed that the mafia is not cooperating in the inquiry. On the basis of property and other evidence, action is also being taken against many close relatives of Mukhtar.

Sources say that more than 40 questions were asked to the mafia in 24 hours. The account of crores of rupees deposited in the bank account was asked and information about the property related to Vikas Construction was taken. Questions were also raised about where the money came from to build a godown on government land in Ghazipur and then how it was given on rent to the Food Corporation of India (FCI). Who were the officials during the taking of FCI contract on single tender and on what basis the tender was obtained from them. Who had invested money in development construction. There were many other such questions, to which Mukhtar could not give an authentic answer.

 

Mafia told the names of people related to real estate

Sources also say that Mukhtar, his family, relatives, associates and close friends have also been questioned. The mafia has given the names of some people associated with real estate, whose properties will be traced. On Wednesday morning, Mukhtar was brought from Banda jail and produced in the district judge's court. After this he was handed over to ED in custody remand for nine days.

 

Court proceedings conducted through video conferencing

In the case of Ghazipur district, on Thursday, through video conferencing, the production of Mukhtar was conducted from the ED office itself. The authorities had also made necessary arrangements for this. The interrogation in the money laundering case was stopped for a few hours due to video conferencing. On the other hand, the duty of police and PAC has been imposed at the ED office. Special vigilance is also being taken to keep an eye on suspicious people.
