He has 261 first-class wickets to his name. At the same time, Doggett recently won a fifer against Western Australia. With this, his number of wickets in three Sheffield Shield matches increased to 11. Both uncapped fast bowlers have been part of the Australian Test team before, but never got a chance to play. Doggett was part of the Australian team in the match played in the UAE during the series against Pakistan in 2018 and Abbott during the home series against India in 2020-21. He was also a part of the Australian squad during the Ashes last year. Earlier, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh also got injured. Pace bowling all-rounder Beau Webster was included in his place as cover.
