11 people died in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Many people were also injured in this accident. Now the Bangalore Police has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and registered an FIR against RCB.
Apart from RCB, DNA Entertainment, and Karnataka State Cricket Association have also been accused in the FIR. The police have registered a case under various sections including unintentional murder. At the same time, there is also talk that the government can hand over the investigation of the case to the CID.
The celebration of victory turned into mourning.
Actually, after a long wait of 18 years, RCB has won the IPL trophy. This victory has created tremendous enthusiasm among the fans as well as the players of the team. A large number of cricket lovers had gathered near the Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate RCB's victory in the IPL.
But due to a lack of adequate arrangements, there was a sudden stampede here and 11 people died and 33 others were injured. It was said that free passes were being given to attend the program. The gate through which the fans were to enter was so narrow that even two people could not enter at a time.
Let us tell you that an agency named DNA Entertainment had managed the RCB victory celebration program and the Karnataka State Cricket Association had organized the program. According to news agency ANI, a case has been registered under sections 105, 25 (1)(2), 132, 121/1, 190 R/w 3 (5).
Allegations and counter-allegations between BJP and Congress
After the deaths in the stampede, politics has also started in the matter. BJP's Karnataka unit chief BY Vijayendra accused the Siddaramaiah government of pressurizing the police and organizing the program without any preparation and adequate police deployment.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of doing politics over this tragedy. He said that he would not compare this incident with tragedies that happened in other places, such as the incidents that happened at the Kumbh Mela. The CM said, '50-60 people died in the Kumbh Mela, did I or the Karnataka government criticise it?'
