NEET UG 2026: NTA has made changes to the NEET UG registration process; Aadhaar eKYC and a live photo will now be required.

The application process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG 2026) has started and will continue until the stipulated last date of March 8, 2026. Students planning to participate in this exam can complete the application process online by visiting the NTA official website neet.nta.nic.in.

 

 

However, the National Testing Agency has made changes to the registration process this time. Students can check the new rules here and fill out the form accordingly.

Aadhaar eKYC is mandatory

NTA has updated the registration process this time, keeping security features in mind. Now, Aadhaar eKYC will be mandatory for registration in this exam. It is now mandatory for identity verification.

 

 

Live Photo must be uploaded

Students will now have to upload a live photo while filling out the application form. According to a tweet by NTA, "Live photo capture is very important. Ensure that your photo covers 80% of the frame and avoid wearing hats, glasses, or goggles to prevent photo discrepancies. Ensure your webcam is working, or you can scan the QR code on any phone and upload the photo from your mobile camera to complete your application."

 

 

How to apply

To fill out the NEET UG Application Form 2026, visit the official website neet.nta.nic.in.

On the homepage, click on "Registration for NEET(UG) – 2026 is LIVE!" under Latest News.

Fill in the required details and register.

After registration, fill in the other details to complete the form.

Pay the prescribed fee according to your category.

Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

To appear in the NEET UG exam, the student must have passed 12th/Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Students who have studied these subjects as additional subjects can also participate. The student's age should not be less than 17 years. There is no upper age limit.
