Big contradiction between Rahul Gandhi's statement and the Election Commission's data, inconsistent information on voter increase

There is a contradiction between Rahul's statement on the President's address in the Lok Sabha and the Election Commission's data. Rahul Gandhi's claims and facts are different. The Commission had informed the Congress about this on December 24, but even after this Rahul Gandhi raised the issue in Parliament. Rahul Gandhi said on the Parliament floor that between the period of 2024 Lok Sabha elections and Maharashtra Assembly elections, 70 lakh voters were added, which is equal to the voters of Himachal Pradesh. Whereas in this context the Election Commission has already said that these facts are completely misleading.

 

Only 48.8 lakh voters increased.

According to the data provided by the Commission in this regard, the actual increase was only 48.8 lakh voters. This included 2646608 new voters in the age group of 18 to 29 years., while there were 8,72,094 such voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years and 17,74,514 voters in the age group of 20-29 years, which increased mainly due to voters who turned 18 years after the last SSR eligible eligibility date at the time of parliamentary elections from 1.1.24 to April 2024 due to recent amendments in the RP Act, 1950.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Election Commission will not provide information about the names, addresses and polling stations of all the voters of the Lok Sabha. While the exact number of voters booth wise in every election has already been made available in Form 20.

 

Only 6 assembly constituencies with more than 50 thousand votes were added.

Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP won the elections in the constituencies where a large number of new voters were added. According to Congress, more than 50 thousand new voters were added in 50 assembly constituencies, out of which the ruling government and its allies won 47 seats. Whereas the commission has stated that there were only six such assembly constituencies where more than 50 thousand voters were added. On this basis, the question of winning 47 seats does not arise.
