Congress leader Shama Mohammed, who called Indian team captain Rohit Sharma fat, posted on 'X' and praised the 'Men in Blue' after the victory over Australia. Shama Mohammed congratulated the Indian team captained by Rohit Sharma for reaching the final.

 

On March 4, 2025, Team India entered the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by defeating Australia by 4 wickets. After this match, Shama Mohammed also congratulated Virat Kohli and said that she was waiting for the final.

She had tweeted on Twitter that Rohit Sharma is unfit to be a player, he is fat. He needs to lose weight! And of course, he is the most ineffective captain India has ever had!

 

Shama's comment was condemned by the BJP and the Congress leader was accused of 'body shaming' and insulting the World Cup winner. However, after this Shama Mohammed deleted this tweet, but by then the controversy had arisen.
