BJP's bet for President: Manthan on women or tribals; The names of Anandi, Anusuya, and Draupadi are at the fore in the race.

The country will get a new President on the 25th of next month. The enrollment process is going on. June 29 is the last date to fill out the form. Meanwhile, the churning of names of presidential candidates has started on behalf of the government and the opposition. Many names are being discussed on behalf of the opposition regarding the candidate for the presidential election, but no consensus is being reached on any name. Many leaders of the opposition have categorically refused to become the presidential candidate, while the ruling party has not yet opened its cards.

Women, Muslims, Dalits, or any other person from South India are being considered in the race to become a superintendent in the BJP, so that it can be easier to handle the assembly elections in 2022-23 and the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. It will be interesting to see whether one of the names being discussed emerges or, like every time, this time too the party comes out with a new name.

Tribal: Till now no person from the tribal community has become the President of the country. Women, Dalits, Muslims, and people coming from South India have become the President, but the tribal community has been deprived of it. In such a situation, the demand has been arising that a person from the Dalit society should also be placed in the highest post in the country.

Out of 543 Lok Sabha seats, 47 seats are reserved for the ST category. The tribal community influences more than 60 seats. A large number of tribal voters are in a decisive position in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. In such a situation, the discussion on the tribal name is also going on.

Women: Women have become the core vote bank for BJP. BJP's efforts are on tap in this vote bank. It is being told that the names of women are being considered the fastest. This includes UP Governor Anandiben Patel. Patel is very close to Narendra Modi.

Apart from Patel, former Governor Draupadi Murmu, and Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uikey are also said to be involved in this race. In the event of making either of them the President, BJP can shoot two targets with one arrow. The first is that this will make it easier for the tribal society to handle and secondly the message will be sent to the women as well.

South India: BJP is looking to expand its presence in South India. For this, the party can try to send a message by making someone from South India the President. In such a situation, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu coming from Andhra Pradesh is the strongest option. Although some other leaders are coming from South India, whose names are being discussed.

Muslim: Hindu-Muslim dispute is going on for the last few days. To end this controversy, BJP is looking for a candidate like former President APJ Abdul Kalam, but the party is not seeing such a face at the moment.

Although the name of Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan is also discussed, he hails from Bulandshahr in UP. Arif always remained a shield for the BJP on matters like triple talaq, and CAA, but according to sources, instead of the President, the BJP can make him the candidate for the Vice President. Through this, an attempt will be made to send a message to the world that the party is not anti-Muslim but anti-appeasement.

President's term ends on July 25

Neelam Sanjeev Reddy was sworn in as the 9th President of the country on 25 July 1977. Since then, every time on July 25, a new President has been taking office.

Reddy was followed by Giani Zail Singh, R Venkataraman, Shankar Dayal Sharma, KR Narayanan, APJ Abdul Kalam, Pratibha Patil, Pranab Mukherjee, and Ram Nath Kovind on July 25.

Two Presidents of the country have died while in office

There have also been two Presidents in the country, who have died while in the presidency. This includes the third President Zakir Hussain and the seventh President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. Zakir Hussain was the President from 13 May 1967 to 3 May 1969. After his death, Vice President VV Giri was made the acting President.

Similarly, the seventh President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed remained in his office from 24 August 1974 to 11 February 1977. Due to his midway death, BD Jatti had to be made the acting President.

Here is the caretaker president

After the death of President Zakir Hussain, the then Vice President VV Giri was made the acting President. After that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Muhammad Hidayatullah was elected President. Whereas, after the death of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, the then Vice President BD Jatti was made the acting President.

Opposition is not getting a presidential candidate

The opposition is not getting a presidential candidate. After NCP chief Sharad Pawar, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, now Mahatma Gandhi's grandson and former West Bengal governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi have also turned down the opposition's offer to be the presidential candidate. Gandhi has made it clear that he will not be the opposition's presidential candidate. In such a situation, the question is, who is the next name from the opposition side? Paschim Bangla CM Mamta Banerjee is constantly trying for a presidential candidate, but she is not getting success. Congress has not even opened its cards yet.
