Patna, Jan 27 (IANS) The Congress Tuesday termed the BJP's mission in Bihar to win 185 seats in the assembly polls later this year as "Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne" (day dreaming).
Congress in-charge of Bihar C.P. Joshi said the BJP has been day dreaming by publicly announcing its target of winning 185 seats in the 243-member assembly.
"It is nothing but the BJP's 'Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne'. It will never come true," the former union minister told the media here.
Last week, BJP President Amit Shah declared an ambitious target of winning 185 seats in the assembly. He also asked BJP leaders in Bihar to strengthen the party's connect with the people.
The BJP has set another goal of enrolling 75 lakh members in the state alone during its nationwide membership drive, targeting 10 crore new members.
Joshi targeted the BJP by saying that the party has been trying hard to experiment its decisive strategy again for political gains in the polls bound state but it will be disappointed.
"BJP will get a major set back in Bihar, the land of innovative thought and new trend in the country," he said.
Joshi said Bihar's polls will once again prove that forces of secularism and communal harmony enjoy the support of people.
"The Congress and other like minded parties would perform better than expected and would caused defeat of the BJP in Bihar polls," Joshi said.
Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United last year joined hands with the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress to contest assembly by polls. They won six of 10 seats contested together against the BJP and its ally Lok Janshakti Party.
