Kolkata, Jan 20 (IANS) The CBI Tuesday conducted searches at 19 locations in West Bengal, including the office and residential premises of MPS Greenery, in a chit fund case, an official said.
MPS Greenery is one of the several non-Saradha Group companies against which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered cases, while probing the multi-crore-rupee Saradha chit fund scam.
"Searches are being conducted at 19 locations in West Bengal in the residential as well as the office premises of directors of MPS Greenery against which a case was registered on allegations of criminal conspiracy, cheating, and criminal breach of trust," said a CBI official.
During the raids, CBI sleuths also searched the residence of MPS Group chairman Pramatha Nath Manna who was arrested in September 2014 for running unauthorised collective investment schemes.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India had in 2013 issued an advisory, warning the public against investing in MPS Greenery Developers Ltd.
On Jan 17, the CBI conducted a search operation in nine locations across West Bengal in pursuance of its probe and also arrested Shivnarayan Das, said to be an advisor of Saradha scam purported kingpin Sudipta Sen.
