In the 38th match of IPL 2023, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Punjab Kings by 56 runs. Batting first after losing the toss, Lucknow scored 257 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis scored 72 runs in 40 balls and Kyle Mayers scored 54 runs in 24 balls. In response, the Punjab Kings team was reduced to 201 runs in 19.5 overs. Atharva Tayde played an inning of 66 runs in 36 balls. After this no batsman could score 40+. Yash Thakur took four wickets and Naveen-ul-Haq took three wickets.

 

With this win, Lucknow has 10 points from eight matches with five wins and three losses. The team has reached the second position after Rajasthan Royals in the points table. At the same time, this was Punjab's fourth defeat in the eighth match. The team is in sixth place with four wins and eight points. Lucknow will play their next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1 at Ekana Stadium. At the same time, Punjab has to play against Chennai Super Kings on 30 April at Chepauk.

In the last five overs, Lucknow scored 73 runs and lost two wickets. Deepak Hooda remained unbeaten after scoring 11 runs in six balls and Krunal Pandya scored five runs. Rabada took two wickets from Punjab. At the same time, Arshdeep, Livingstone and Sam Karan got one wicket each.
