In the war against cervical cancer, the country is going to get an effective weapon today. The first vaccine is being launched in the country for the prevention of cervical cancer. The quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is completely indigenous. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh will launch this vaccine. The event will be organized at the India International Center (IIC). SII CEO Adar Poonawalla will also be present in the program.

The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) last month granted permission to the Serum Institute of India (SII) to produce an indigenous anti-cervical cancer vaccine. SII has prepared this vaccine under the brand name 'Survac'.

'Proud experience to launch indigenous vaccine'

Dr. NK Arora, President, National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) and COVID Working Group, has said that it is a proud experience to launch the vaccine manufactured in India. He said that it is full of excitement to launch the vaccine manufactured in India. I am glad that our daughters and granddaughters will now be able to receive this much-awaited vaccine.

More complaints in women aged 15-44

This vaccine is very effective against all types of targeted HPV. It produces a thousand times more antibodies than baseline in all dosages and age groups. Cervical cancer is the second such form of this disease, from which women in the age group of 15 to 44 years suffer the most in the country.
