Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday strongly condemned the vandalization of BR Ambedkar's statue in Amritsar and said that no one will be forgiven for this incident. This incident, which took place on Republic Day, sparked outrage among the people.

In a post on X, CM Mann wrote that the incident of breaking the statue of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ji on the Heritage Street of Sri Amritsar Sahib is highly condemnable and no one will be forgiven for this incident.

Punjab Police had earlier on Sunday said that they have arrested some miscreants for the alleged attempt to tamper with the statue. A case has been registered and an investigation is on to find out the motive behind the incident.
Jagjit Singh Walia, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in Amritsar, told ANI that some miscreants tried to vandalize the statue of BR Ambedkar at the Town Hall. We have caught them and registered a case and an investigation is underway. The motive behind the incident is not yet known.
