A nuclear accident happened 36 years ago

 

36 years ago on 26 April 1986, there was a terrible explosion in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant of the then Soviet Union. The blast was so devastating that within a few hours 32 workers working here were killed while hundreds of workers were badly burnt by nuclear radiation. The Soviet Union tried to hide this accident from the world. But after a report by the Swedish government, the then Soviet Union accepted this accident. After the partition of the Soviet Union, Chernobyl came to Ukraine.

Actually, on 26 April, an investigation was to be done at the nuclear power plant. During this investigation, there was a huge explosion in the plant. Scientists wanted to test an electrical system to see if the reactor's equipment worked after the power supply was turned off.

 

One of the control systems was shut down for this test, causing the reactors to become dangerously unbalanced. During this, a terrible explosion occurred in the plant. While some people believe that this explosion was due to more steam and more hydrogen. Because of this the radioactive material spread and people started falling ill.
