China is preparing to encircle India via Bhutan. This has been revealed in satellite photos. It has been learned in this that China has settled a village in the Amo Chu valley of Bhutan, 9 km from Doklam. China has named this village present in the Bhutanese area as Pangda.
The pictures of the construction of this village came in November 2019, but now this village is fully populated. Cars are visible in front of almost every house. There is an all-weather road near Pangda, which China has built by occupying Bhutanese land. This road is on the banks of the fast-flowing Amo Chu river, which is 10 km inside Bhutan. Doklam is the same place where China and Indian Army met in the year 2017.
China is carrying out village and road construction activities in the Amo Chu Valley. This valley is about 30 km south of the largest area of Chinese-occupied Bhutan. This area was occupied by China last year. Due to these activities, the concern of Indian security forces in Sikkim has increased.
What will be the impact of this construction on India?
This construction is sure to have an impact on the country because due to the construction around Amo Chu, the Chinese army can easily reach the strategically important Doklam plateau. With this, China can easily access the sensitive Siliguri Corridor of India. The Siliguri Corridor connects the northeastern states with the rest of the country.
The Indian Army had stopped Chinese workers from reaching the Jhamperi Ridge in Doklam in the year 2017. China is now trying to reach here by an alternate route.
Attempt to capture Jhamperi Ridge
The country's Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi (retd) told NDTV, "Pangda village and it's north and south villages are the latest examples of Chinese attempts to capture the Jhamperi Ridge and Doklam plateau."
New photographs have shown that the second village on the banks of Amo Chu Nahi is almost complete, while the third village to the south is under construction. A bridge has also been constructed over the river near the third village. The foundations of 6 buildings are also visible here.
China's expansionist attitude came to the fore
Intelligence researcher Damien Simon, who has analyzed the new pictures, said that the rapid construction in such a remote area is worth noting. This shows how China is expanding its borders without any opposition. China is building roads to provide all-weather access to the area.
Simon told that China is fragmenting Bhutanese territory and Bhutan is not able to stop it. Bhutan's ambassador to New Delhi, Major General Vetsop Namgyal, declined to comment on China's build-up in the Amo Chu valley. At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs has not issued any statement on this matter.
Danger in the Chicken Neck Corridor
Chinese affairs expert Dr. Brahm Chelani says that China is strengthening its military capability against India by building villages, roads, and security installations in the areas of China and Bhutan. Through these constructions, China has emerged as a threat to the country's strategically important Chicken Neck Corridor.
On the Bhutan front, this incident comes at a time when India and China have held 16 rounds of talks to reduce tension in Ladakh on the Eastern Front. However, even after this, significant results have not been achieved. The last round of talks took place on Sunday.
