Just before the visit of President Draupadi Murmu to Punjab on Thursday, there was a stir due to the incident of writing slogans in support of Khalistan. The President is on a 4-hour visit to Amritsar today. Before his visit, these slogans were found written outside Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar. The banned terrorist organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ) has taken the responsibility of getting the slogans written. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the head of this organization sitting in America released a video related to it.
Amritsar district administration swung into action as soon as information related to Khalistani slogans was received. The officers who reached the spot in a hurry got the banner written outside GNDU removed.
A meeting of the delegates of G20 countries is to be held in Amritsar next week. This meeting will be held in GNDU only. In such a situation, it is surprising that banners with Khalistani slogans were put up outside the most sensitive spots and the police administration did not even get a clue.
