Oppenheimer is credited with inventing the atomic bomb. In such a situation, this film has been in discussion for a long time, and along with it, Cillian Murphy, who plays the main character in 'Oppenheimer', is also making headlines. Recently, Cillian Murphy revealed that he recited the Bhagavad Gita to prepare for the film, which made everyone's chest drop.

 

Cillian Murphy said in a recent interview that he read Bhagavad Gita to prepare for filmmaker Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer'. In this interview, the actor opened up about his preparation to play the role of theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer. J Robert Oppenheimer had said that soon after the successful test of the world's first atomic bomb in 1945, he remembered a verse from the Gita. When the test was completed, Oppenheimer, who was once a student of Sanskrit, thought, 'Now I have become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'

 

When Cillian Murphy was asked in this interview about Oppenheimer being influenced by this verse, he told that he too was inspired by it. He said, 'I read the Bhagavad Gita during preparation and I thought it was a very beautiful text. Not only this, it is also very inspiring. I think it was a consolation for him. He needed it and it must have given him great solace for the rest of his life.

 

When Cillian was asked about his learnings from the Bhagavad Gita, he jokingly said, 'Well, don't cross-question me on that.' The actor then added, 'I found it very beautiful.' Oppenheimer, one of the much-anticipated Hollywood films, will trace the history of American theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer's controversial Manhattan Project. It was under this project that the first nuclear weapons were manufactured during the Second World War. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film will hit theaters on July 21, 2023.
